There have been few other thrills in my life that have rivaled being on the field with the teams I love as they have celebrated a championship. I feel so lucky to have had the chance to document two of the greatest football teams to come out of my home state. Despite my love for both teams it is not enough to erase their bitter rivalry. Few fans can say they've left their home in Alabama flip-flops and an Auburn hat. Most fans that I know of either team disdain their in-state rival. However, I beckon the Alabama fans who have been starting the "Go Ducks" campaigns to take a moment to look at the bigger picture. Not since 1939, 51 years ago, have two football teams from the same state won back to back National Championships. Let us set aside our different battle cries to cheer in unison for our state's place in college football history.

SEC Championship 2010
Last Saturday I covered my third straight SEC Championship and boy has it been a heck of a 2 years in college football for the state of Alabama. In the last two SEC Championships I've gotten to see my Alma Mater the Alabama Crimson Tide take the crown and now my long time favorite team and father's Alma Mater the Auburn Tigers have captured the championship. I couldn't have scripted it any better. Alabama of course went on to win the national championship last year and now the No. 1 Tigers are poised to take that title as well as they prepare to face the No. 2 Oregon Ducks for it all in January.
